Leigh Steele

Director of Community

Ever since joining the speech team in high school, Leigh has been hooked on public speaking and the power of inspirational words and methodologies to empower people. She joins the Balance Warriors team as Director of Community and specializes in cultivating a growth mindset and in coaching entrepreneurs in effective, authentic engagement (in any relationship: business, platonic, romantic, or familial).

Leigh holds a Bachelors of Communications degree from Ottawa University. As a freelance writer, Leigh has helped to craft business strategies and content for diverse industries including ICO/cryptocurrency, real estate, start ups, lifestyle and wellness, education, and more.

Prior to being an official Balance Warrior, Leigh served as Employee Communications and Satisfaction Manager for American Express. During her tenure, her responsibilities included creating and distributing key organizational communications for high-level managers, planning and managing the employee rewards program and events, as well as designing and implementing the overall employee communication strategy.

She has served on the Board of Directors for two local non-profit organizations, is an avid spoken word poet and coach, and is passionate about proving that anyone can enter the world of entrepreneurship regardless of ANY excuse that they may believe is holding them back. As a single mom to four amazing kids, her mantra is: “You can do hard things”.
